"I wish we could listen to Joel all day!" is a typical comment
of audience members at Dr. Orr's presentations. His powerful
use of metaphor couples with his warm humor to produce
an uplifting, informative, and exciting experience for his
audiences.

Trained in math and computer science, Joel has spent
the last twenty-five years advising the leading corporations
of the world on ways to improve. To do this, he has researched
the relationship between people and information technology--
focusing on what makes computers difficult for people to use.

Joel's insights into the future of technology ignite his audiences
worldwide. His books on engineering and manufacturing automation
have been translated into Japanese and other languages.

His columns in CAE, Machine Design, Examiner.com, and other
publications here and abroad are always among the most popular features.
In 1992, North Carolina State University honored Joel by presenting him
with the Orthogonal Award (held by only six others), for
excellence in computer graphics education.

Joel is a communicator of exceptional brilliance and flexibility
who consistently delivers knockout performances. He lives in
California, has six children and twenty-four grandchildren, and
is listed in Who's Who.
