Open-source project management/ERP and more

Written by a team of German engineers living in Spain, ]project-open[ is one of the most impressive open-source systems I've encountered. (Thanks for pointing it out, Doug Hall.)

]project-open[ in a Nutshell * ]po[ is a Web-based "Enterprise Project Management" software for project-based organizations with 2-200 users. ]po[ integrates areas such as CRM, sales, project planning, project tracking, collaboration, timesheet, invoicing and payments.

* ]project-open[ is one of the largest open-source based web applications in the world with more then 1,000,000 lines of code.

* More then 1000 companies in 25 countries use ]po[ to run their businesses.

Thanks Joel for putting this link on about ]Project-Open[ . As mentioned in the Dandelion Paradox, structure is the key and systems allow for that structure. I think it really allows for a system to be put in place. All the better if a company has the system and then being able to put it on the web. I think a difficult thing is maintaining the system. The team at ]p-o[ can maintain the system. The other issue is inputting the data. Thus, a company hopefully will look at how that will be done.

Yes, many folks will argue that OpenBravo nd other ERP systems are for very large businesses only, but there are lots of firms like your 30-person business using it. Anyone who can understand the workings of a database can get going with using an ERP system--worth checking out.
