What do students need to know about engineering?

I need your help.

I am planning a series of talks on college campuses, designed to attract students to engineering. I plan to talk about engineering, its role in society, what engineers actually do, the pro's and con's of being an engineer, different kinds of engineering - and more.

What sorts of things do you think I should talk about? What should I avoid? What would be really cool? What would be a turnoff? Comment below, or email me.
